Spring is rapidly approaching and the D.C. area is in great anticipation of a seasonal favorite: children’s consignment sales. There is no shortage of opportunities this year. Whether you’re interested in buying or selling, toys or clothes, size newborn or teen, you will find a sale that has what you need. Below are some of the many sales coming up in the month of March. Let the rummaging begin!

March 2nd to 6th: Classy Kids Consignment Spring Sale, Prince William County Fairgrounds, located at 10624 Dumfries Rd, Manassas, VA.

March 5th: Montgomery County Parents of Multiples Semi-Annual Sale, 9am to 1pm at Roberto Clemente Middle School, Germantown, MD. Closed from 11:30am to noon to prepare for the 1/2 price sale on select items from noon to 1pm. Admission $2/person, cash & checks accepted. No strollers.

March 5th: Good Shepherd Children's Thrift Sale & Fun Fair, 10am to 2pm, Burke. Children's thrift sale, plus bake sale, plus Fun Fair- favorite activities include the moon bounce, fishing, racecars, the jungle cakewalk, dinosaur dig and face painting.

March 9th to 13th: TotSwap, Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

March 10th to 12th: Kid's Closet Connection at the National Guard Armory in Leesburg, VA. Sale open to the public 3/10 (10am to 7pm); 3/11 (10am to 7pm) and 3/12 (9am to 1pm - half-price on most items).

March 11th to 13th: Second Helpings Kids Consignment, Hours vary, Kena Shriners in Fairfax, Virginia. No entrance fee. Visa and MasterCard accepted. No checks please.

March 11th to 13th: Wee-cyle Mart Harford/Cecil County Sale, Perryville Outlet Center in the old LL BEAN Store. Admission is $2 or $1 and a bag of non-perishable food. Partially benefits the local food bank. Kids get in free; one admission is good on all days. Sunday is 50% off day. Credit cards accepted.

March 12th: MOMS of Mantua, 8am to 1pm, Mantua Pool Clubhouse, 9330 Pentland Place, Fairfax. Half-price sale on specially marked consignor's items starting at 12:10pm. CASH ONLY.

March 12th: St. Jude's Tot Sale, 8am to 3pm, St. Jude Catholic School, Rockville, MD. Sale to benefit the children of St. Jude Catholic School. Half-price sale from 2 to 3pm.

March 12th: Christ Church Children's Consignment Sale, 8am to 2pm, 8285 Glen Eagles Lane, Fairfax Station, VA. Most items 1/2 off from noon to 2pm. Cash, checks or credit cards accepted. No strollers.

March 16th: 529 Kids Consign, 4 to 6:30pm, 6226 Rolling Road, Springfield, VA. Check out Little Acorn Patch, one of the DC area's premier children's learning centers and shop designer children's and maternity clothing.

March 17th to 20th: Green Kids Consignment Sale, Prince William County Fairgrounds, located at 10624 Dumfries Rd, Manassas VA, located in the Arts & Crafts Building. Hours vary by day.

March 19th: Preschool Children's Consignment Sale, 8am to 1pm, Accotink Unitarian Church, 10125 Lakehaven Court, Burke, VA.

March 19th: Catholic Consignments, 8am to 4:30pm, St. Theresa Catholic School, Ashburn, VA. Half-price from noon to 1:30pm; Dollar Dash from 3:30 to 4:30pm. NO admission fee!

March 19th: Arlington Kids Stuff Consignment Sale. 8am to noon at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, corner of Lorcom Lane and Military Road in Arlington, VA. Sharing profits and unsold goods with Arlington Food Assistance, AHC Inc., Art for Humanity, and others. No strollers.

March 19th: Fairfax County Mothers of Multiples Clothing Sale, Chantilly High School (in the cafeteria; please use entrance 4), 4201 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly, VA (just ½ block south of Route 50 - and up the road from Fair Lakes Center). 9am to 1pm.

March 19th: Children's Consignment Sale, sponsored by Grace Weekday Preschool and the MOMS Club of Springfield. From 8am to 1pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, 7434 Bath Street, Springfield, VA.

March 19th: PWMOMC Spring 2011 Consignment Sale, 8am to 1pm, Prince William County Fairgrounds, 10624 Dumfries Rd, Manassas, VA. Sponsored by Prince Wm Mothers of Multiples Club, a non-profit organization.

March 19th: Kinhaven Annual Kids Sale, 8am to 1pm, Fellowship Hall of the Central United Methodist Church, 4201 N. Fairfax Dr., Arlington (across from the Ballston Metro). All proceeds benefit Kinhaven, a nonprofit cooperative preschool that serves children from 14 months to five years. Church parking is very limited; please park off-site if possible. No admission charge. Cash only.

March 19th: Columbia Area Mothers of Multiples Spring Consignment Sale, 8am to 1pm at The Cradlerock School at 6700 Cradlerock in Columbia, Cash and checks only. Admission is $1. Half-price sale is from noon to 1pm. No strollers.

March 19th: Kids Nearly New Spring Sale, 8am to noon, Maryland National Guard Armory, Towson, MD. Free admission, food is available. No ATM on site.

March 24th to 27th: Wee-Sale Consignment Sale, "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park, Annapolis, MD. March 24th: 9am to 5pm; March 25th & 26th: 9am to 5pm; March 27th: Public 1/2 price: 10am to 2pm. All sales are final, no strollers or walking children before noon on opening day. No refunds, exchanges, or returns.

March 25th & 26th: Cameron United Methodist Church Consignment Sale, 3130 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA. March 25th: 9am to 8pm; March 26th: 9am to noon. All items that are not sold or returned to the sellers are donated to several charities in the local area. Cash or personal check accepted.

March 25th & 26th: Redeemer Lutheran Preschool, 1545 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA All proceeds will be used to purchase preschool equipment and maintain/upgrade our playground, which is open to the public during non-school hours!

March 26th: Kids Nearly New Spring Sale, 8am to noon, Maryland National Guard Armory, Towson, MD. Free admission, food is available. No ATM on site.

March 26th: Eastern Prince William Mothers of Twins Club, 7:30am to 1pm, Bethel United Methodist Church, 13506 Minnieville Road, Woodbridge, VA.

March 26th: Calvary Road Baptist Church Children's Consignment, 7:30am to 1:30pm, 6811 Beulah Road, Alexandria, VA. Sales floor closes at noon for fifteen minutes to prepare for the 1/2 price sale, which takes place from 12:15 to 1:30pm. No strollers. Cash and checks accepted with ID.

March 26th: Fort Hunt Preschool Rummage Sale, 8am to noon, 1909 Windmill Lane, Alexandria, VA. Rain or shine.

March 26th: Christian Fellowship Church MOPS Consignment Sale, Ashburn Elementary, Ashburn, VA. 8am to 11am; half-price sale from 11:30am to 1pm, Dollar dash from 3 to 3:45pm.

March 26th & 27th: The 2011 Tossed & Found Rummage Sale, 2100 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA. Sale proceeds benefit the Junior League of Washington's targeted grants and community programs.
